Abstract

In 1767, Jesuits were rejected from their Spanish colonies in America; their proprieties (farms and slaves) were sold to particular people, auction process that happened in 1773. That was the origin of a series of interethnic conflicts at Cucuta Valley within the new slave’s owners. A conflicts examination allowed to know the interest that were important with the owner’s decisions in relation with the slave’s labor acquired and the changes that happened in the daily life. This study was based in the documentation of the Archivo General de la Nación, and the archives of Pamplona: Histórical and Arquidiocesano.
