Abstract

This article stems from a promising, although incomplete, historical panorama of rural childhood. It is assumed that their invisibility is not a result of a lack of participation in socio-cultural, economic, and productive processes but rather a consequence of an analytical positioning that is not always recognized. In that regard, it aims at analyzing the space that rural children occupied in historical studies (irregular, extra-centric) with emphasis on Argentine, while new contributions are presented to indicate the possibility of configuring a specific subfield. In a decade when studies on children's past revealed its importance, this paper intends to point out gaps but also possibilities to build a history without child invisibilities.
