CONSTRUIR LA REPÚBLICA Y REDEFINIR EL PUEBLO. EL DISCURSO POLÍTICO EN LOS MANUALES ESCOLARES COLOMBIANOS DEL SIGLO XIX

Abstract

Este artículo analiza desde la perspectiva de la historia de la educacion el discurso político presente en los manuales escolares colombianos del siglo XIX, especialmente el relacionado con la idea de república y de pueblo y el papel que estos jugaron en la consrucción del imaginario social de la época. Los discursos analizados parten de la idea de que la república constituía el estado ideal bajo el cual se debía organizar la nación que requiría de un nuevo sujeto; el ciudadano.

ABSTRACT

From an educational and historical approach, this article revises the political discourse of colombian textbooks during the XIX, specialty the discourse related to the concepts of Republic and people. It also examines the rol played by them in the constrution of the social imaginery of that era. The discourse analized are based on the concept that the republic constituted a kind of ideal state under which the nation had to be organized and that this concept of nation required a new individual: The citizen.
