Neoliberal logics and dynamics: subjectivity and the entrepreneur of the self

This article is the product of a bibliographic review exercise carried out within the framework of the first Research Seminar of the doctorate in Formation in Diversity, in which key concepts such as: Neoliberalism, subjectivity and self-entrepreneur .Its objective is to interrelate and problematize the foundations of the neoliberal economy of the twentieth century; the entrepreneur of the self as a mechanism or biopolitical device of power and performance; and the new practices of subjectivization or constitution of the contemporary subject based on the generation of desire, debt and guilt. This under a common premise: neoliberalism requires the fabrication of certain types of productive subjectivities, based on the myth of liberation and happiness of the subject, for its functioning and reproduction. The article is divided into four sections: first, the nature of 20th century liberalism, where some characteristics and transformations it has undergone since the Cold War and May of '68 are presented. Second, the entrepreneur of the self, a brief study on the biopolitical form of construction of productive subjectivities, of performance, of guilt and of submission to capital, characteristic of the contemporary world. Third, the neoliberal subject, his psyche, emotionality and subjectivity; where the implications and consequences of these biopolitical practices on the subject are assessed in detail. Finally, in the fourth section there is a short reflection on the relationship between these concepts and the problems they pose at the epistemological level in the contemporary world. The article presents a different way of understanding neoliberal logics and dynamics, biopolitical practices and their impact on the subjectivity of the subject. Specifically, it allows a reflection on the principles of liberalism, its limits and contradictions.
