Manifesto for a Sensitive Sociology

Abstract

Studying sociology from the social, political and economic realities in the Colombian scenario, allows the debate, construction and questioning of its teaching in universities, this, from practice. Therefore, this essay arises from the constant concern and criticism of the way in which social problems are studied from the academy, but it slips out of its context, without an impact on their transformation. In this way, the approaches of the sociologist Orlando Fals Borda will be used, as Latin American critical thinking, which through its action in research and political commitment, design a vision of western science to be able to conceive from our contexts. The concept of social science will be developed, based on the question ¿science for whom?, And how it can be linked to different social processes; Then he identified with the discussion on critical theory and traditional theory, showing how science from the local has been subordinated to what is called western science, he also asks about the role of the researcher around social and political commitment; and finally, a bet is made for a sociology that involves the researcher's feeling and reasoning, rescuing one of the teachings of Fals Borda, building a sentipensante sociology.
