The democracy and State occupied a special place in Emile Durkheim´s sociological thought, which becomes evident when the origins of the institutionalization of sociology as a scientific discipline is analyzed, when the temporal and spatial factors in which happen the most relevant socio-historical events that support his own system of thought are observed more closely, when the moral crisis that shook the Third Republic in the late nineteenth century is taken into account, and addition the critics who argued against the political thought of French philosophy traditional. Comprehensive presentation of all these factors is done throughout the paper reconstruct the particular place that the State and its allies concepts played in the thought of the French sociologist.
