LA POÉTICA EN LA OTRA GENTE DE FANNY BUITRAGO

Abstract

El objetivo de este ensayo es revelar aspectos claves de la poética del libro de cuentos La otra gente (1972); al igual que el lenguaje que da cuenta de la modernidad y de las ideologías implícitas; y una serie de motivos que dinamizan la obra como personajes populares, la magia, la brujería, la superstición, el viaje y el regreso, la religiosidad, la oralidad y la tradición, los rituales y costumbres. Todos estos elementos nacen en la historia familiar de la misma escritora, y marcan hitos de una tradición oral que se ha ido contando de generación en generación. También es mi interés analizar una serie de eventos testimoniales que gravitan entre la realidad y la ficción, y que incitan a pensar en una relación genérica de lo real maravilloso.

ABSTRACT

This essay aims to reveal 1) key aspects of the book of short stories La otra gente (1972) and 2) the language that explains modernity and the implicit ideologies in it. It also attempts to reveal a series of motifs such as popular characters, magi, witchcraft, superstition, travel, religion, oral discourse and tradition, rituals and habits, which make the book a dynamic oeuvre. All these elements are rooted in the writer’s family history and they become milestones of an oral tradition that has been told from generation to generation. I also intend to analyze a series of testimonial events that turn around reality and fiction and that make us think about a relationship with the genre of the ‘real maravilloso’.
