The Historical Code in Character Design

This article focuses on the discipline of theatrical costume design based on the historical code as an approach. It deals with the resources and conditions that a designer faces when shaping a characterization proposal. It addresses the parameters that intervene in the reformulation of clothing as a creative process. The pursued objective is to outline a proposal to approach the design of a historically based character highlighting its potential and richness as an expressive and conceptual resource.
